Genre bender Alya

The singer that is Alya is emerging as an artist to watch. Her style of music is genre bending. She employs elements of pop, indie, jazz and EDM. Alya’s ambitious new song “Half of the Sun” exemplifies the singer’s approach to diversity. A self described “happy song” about being ok with who you are at the present moment.  She blends surf rock guitar with an array of percussion including Jaapanese taiko drums.  The background singers are Japanese as well. She was born in Russia but spent time in Japan. She claims the song is a “happy song” she created 9 years ago but decided to bring it back to see the light of day. She says it is a love song about finding your other half and enjoying that person. The first single out from her upcoming album that she produces in both English and Japanese. She is an interesting woman and her music exemplifies her love of the craft. Being a musician was what she alwayswanted to do as a young person. She wound up going to college and spending time as

The Citradels leave you wanting more and more and more

The Citadrels hail from Melbourne Australia. They put out self proclaimed "anti psych wimp rock". They dropped God Bless in January of 2018. It’s the bands 8th album since forming in 2010.Their sound is fresh and eclectic. Claiming they were influenced by the Kinks, Brian Jones Massarce, Jesus and Mary Chain and the versatility of Brian Wilson, you can hear the jangly surf rock coupled with shoegazing and harmonizing. A righteous combination if ever there was one.   Listening to God Bless was like a road trip across county. All the vistas look different some roads are smoother than others but all make for a trippy ride. The songs on this album do not mimic one another with each having a distinct flavor. The band is the brain child of Sunny Down Snuff. Snuff is a musicians’ musician practicing every day and fine tuning his musical prowess. “If I’ve got to work a shitty job for the rest of my life, but I can keep making music, then I’ll be happy doing it.” Over the course

MLV Does what he wants

Matthew Logan Vasquez plays outlaw psychedelic rock. He mashes up dirty guitar playing with the expressive vocals. He released the EP Texas Murder Ballads earlier this year to  only a few spins on the radio and barely any press reviews. MLV doesn't care I am sure. He is that kind of guy.  He has takes no prisorers attitude and after following him on Instagram his casual lack of concern is evident. He once got an infection and literally toad a picture of him with his adss hangin out o this hospital gown. A true pistol. He takes his guitar to raunchy heights and sings in emotive, expressive heights. He mixes his passion with his poetry and emulates his influences Neil Young, Kurt Cobain, Lou Reed while maintinginr his own style.   former member of the California band, Delta Spirit, and a current member of the Indie super group, Middle Brother, MLV released his first solo album in 2016 and followed it up with "Matthew Logan Vasquez Does What He Wants".  And he sure does. The

They are the Record Company and they play rock n roll

The Record Company plays Rock N Roll. A pure 3 piece band blending the simplicity of guitar, percussion and bass. This bearded bunch add in the righteous harmonica and tambourine for ultimate effect. There latest album All of This Life is out today and I already can’t get enough of this funky stuff. They have been playing together for around 5 years after playing with different bands. They connected to form their signature sound. Chris Vos' whiskey toned, booming vocals play like an instrument. He takes his boosted guitar sounds to meld seamlessly with Alex Stiff's bass playing. . The dirty hot bass line on "Life To Fix" drives that song about getting out of your own way and making things work.  "Nver going to cry for me' showcases Vos' guitar chops. The percussion is always rolling in the back ground. The Record Company started playing in their living rooms and then 18 months later they were playing sold out shows and highlighting events like WPXN Fes
