Protest songs take a hard line. In this day and in this PC age it isn't polite to disagree. But fk politeness. Lets get to it. The gentleman who make up Citylightz are not shy. That would be their antonym. Synonym would be brash, outspoken, deliciously fresh. They get on well. When they aren't threating a break up. That happened. But they mended fences and got back at it.
Proof pulls out the feelings people might be thinking but can't, won't say. They used to have Super mega fringes. Funny dudes. Chatting on a radio interview about back when there was Blink 182 and American pie..... The song "Proof" goes full on about the inequity of wage and "the assailants" They are not afraid to go at the Brexit exit, What the hell is going on there anyway?
Back to the music. Slithering guitar. punk hip hop singing. They just "rap on it". They play with 2 guitars and a bass. The drummer kicks yea the drummer kicks. Yea. The song rings up inequity in wages and how one should keep their mouth shut. I, for one, am glad Citylightz is not being silent. They are saying what you want to say. They just aren't afraid to say it. Word. Who the heck is putting "blood and corruption" in their lyrics? And maybe it is just what people want to hear. Even if they pretend they don't. You don't hear that brazen truth from a lot of bands who are playing it safe. Fk the critics. Turn on the LIGHTZ.
The Lightz of the city are a spunky band destined for good things on the horizon. Support them.
